On 11/27/2018 we added Proxy Per Tab, Duplicate Multiple Tabs Plus and Check For Change to Insomniac for Firefox. If you had already installed it, please uninstall and reinstall from the 'Installing...' section below.
Insomniac for Firefox
Insomniac for Firefox is being made available on a limited basis in a BETA version.
Please note, this is a beta and as with all of our products, we make no warranties regarding it. By downloading this beta software you are subject to the same terms of use that you agreed to when you signed up for Insomniac Browser.
Please watch the usage demos in the two accordions below. We already have a lot of people who are saying they are logged into the same account in different tabs. This is not 'broken'. It's user error. Please read the instructions or watch the two demo videos below!
Download Firefox if you have not done so already and install it.
Download the Insomniac for Firefox extension and save it somewhere you can get to (like your Desktop folder or Downloads folder).
In Firefox, go to Menu-->Add-ons. You'll see a page that offers to add other themes and Add-ons.
Drag the insosmniac_for_firefox.xpi file that you downloaded in step 2 onto the Firefox Add-ons page. Just drop it anywhere and magically it will install itself.
Approve installation then you will see the Insomniac icon in the extension toolbar. Log in and you can start using Insomniac for Firefox.
Here's a video of the process. After you install it, MAKE SURE YOU ALSO WATCH THE VIDEO IN THE NEXT SECTION TO SEE HOW TO AVOID ACCOUNT CROSSOVER!
This extension works a little differently from Insomniac for Chrome. You don't need to do any settings BUT it's easy to mess up your isolated sessions if you don't read below.
Regular 'Duplicate' in Firefox Does NOT Isolate Your Tabs From Each Other
Many initial users are making this mistake. If you right click a tab and use the regular 'duplicate' function in Firefox, it does NOT create a new session for you. You just get another tab and it shares the cookie jar with the original tab just like any old browser would.
This is 'one-session browsing' and won't work for seeing multiple sets of inventory. You need 'multi-session' browsing.
The Correct Way to Create and Duplicate Tabs
So, what you want to do instead is one of the special duplicate methods we've created. Please watch the video below to see how to use those methods. They are:
Click the Insomniac extension icon then "duplicate multiple tabs". (easiest and fastest even if you are only doing 1)
Click the Insomniac extension icon then open a "new Insomniac Tab". (Gives you an empty tab with a fresh 'session')
Click the Insomniac extension icon then open a "new Insomniac Window". (Use this if you have other stuff you are doing in Firefox, then use method 1, 2 or 4 to make new tabs.)
Right click any page, then go to "Insomniac for Chrome-->Duplicate Multiple Tabs"
Here's a short video showing you everything you need to know to make the Beta work.
Please let us know if this extension works better for you than the Insomniac extension. If reports are positive, we'll start adding the most needed extra features.
