The registration will take you less than a minute, but you might want to make sure you open the browser well before your Saturday a.m. onsales so you don’t get caught off guard at sale time.

Ticketmaster Errors Befuddle Users of All Browsers

We have received some reports lately of Ticketmaster errors that say the user’s time limit has been exceeded even when they have just entered the CAPTCHA word.

User reports were generally followed by a request for us to fix the problem. We jumped on it right away and were unable to replicate the error, so we headed over to PresaleToday to ask users if they were experiencing this problem in browsers other than Insomniac. We confirmed that it was happening in FireFox and Internet Explorer as well.

So the good news is, it is not an Insomniac problem. The bad news is we can’t fix. We’ll just have to wait for Ticketmaster to get a handle on it.

Still, we’d like to thank the users that took the time to let us know. It is our goal to keep Insomniac functioning at a high level and we rely on you to let us know if something seems off.

New Version Smooths Out Insomniac Experience

Insomniac Partners with PresaleToday for Integrated Chat

We have partnered with PresaleToday to allow users of Insomniac to get a remote version of their chat box – including both private chats and PresaleToday public chats – right in the Browser. This release will happen today. To use it, all you have to do is click the chat icon near the upper right hand corner of the browser, enter your PresaleToday username and you will get a portable, detachable version of the chat. Now you can talk tickets from your browser even when you are not on the PresaleToday page.

PresaleToday has hundreds of ticket seller members so you can get opinions on tickets as you pull them, chat about the hottest events or just jaw about the latest news going on in the ticket industry, right from your ticketing browser. You will have access to all of the same functionality you would have on the PresaleToday site, including colored messages so you know which ones are coming from which of your groups, the ability to show or hide certain groups, and the ability to respond to any of your messages.

New Version Smooths Out Insomniac Experience

After the initial launch of the Insomniac Browser, we had a lot of new feature requests from our users that we thought were great additions and dug in on them immediately. As a result, though, we let the framework suffer a little bit. As a result, many users were having a great experience, but others were barely getting off the ground.

Well, we’ve taken a major step to fix that.

Over the past few months we have had a freeze on new features and have been working on fixing our framework so we could eliminate the problems you have brought to our attention, including:

Install/Uninstall Issues
Update Issues
“Find Tickets” Buttons
Javascript Errors

In addition, and most importantly, we have implemented a more mature error reporting framework that lets you report issues directly to our developers when they happen so we can nip any new issues in the bud as soon as possible. You will see it after you update in the upper right hand corner of the browser. No software exists without occasional glitches, but once you get the new version installed, if you experience ANY errors with Insomniac, you can choose to send us an error report which will give us critical system information that we can use to help troubleshoot your specific problem. Your report will go directly to our developers so we can get to work on fixing it immediately.

This is no small announcement because it means that now, you not only get the great functionality of the Insomniac Browser, but you also get better reliability, availability and response time and you will be able to run the browser on any Mac or PC system.

This is a major step that we have taken to improve our product and help you with your business goals. Now that this stage of development has been completed, we will start planning for the next round of development, so, as always, please let us know if there is anything we can do to make it easier for you to use Insomniac to meet those goals.

New Release Includes EZ-Search

We have a new release that is just about ready. The new release fixes the Captcha bug for ticket sales that happen on TicketHorse, 507Tixx.com, Wachovia Center and other Evenue venues.

Additionally, we have added search to the browser. Now, if you enter a search term into the URL bar, you will see search results from the internet at large. There is also a “Presale Passwords” tab, so with one click you get a selection of presale password sites that will help you get the passwords you need.
